Conferences

ESTCON2020 is one of the world’s  largest congresses Malaysia has ever hosted which comprises nine simultaneously-held international conferences, focusing on different issues pertaining to their respective theme, namely:

Why 9 conferences?

The World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON2020), a biennial Congress organised by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) is an excellent centre stage for knowledge sharing, intellectual discussions and also networking on various areas of interest; for all academics, researchers, scientists, engineers, interest groups and industry experts from all around the world.

Themed ‘Science, Technology and Humanities: Reinventing the Future’, the congress covers a wide range of fields in innovation, engineering, and technology as well as in humanities addressing the latest trends and challenges facing the world in embracing the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Let’s take a look at each conference background:

ICOGET2020: International Conference on Oil & Gas Engineering and Technology is organised by the Petroleum Engineering Department with theme “Evolving Technologies and Digitalization: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Oil and Gas Production” intends to address main issues related to the enhancement of oil and natural gas production for both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. It aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and industry experts to exchange and discuss the most recent innovations and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted for the development of oil and natural gas fields.

ICCOEE2020: International Conference on Civil, Offshore & Environmental Engineering is organised by the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. The conference aims at providing a platform for academia and industry to showcase their latest advancements and findings in civil engineering areas with an emphasis on the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The conference also provides great opportunities for participants to exchange new ideas and experiences as well as to establish research and business relations with global partners for future collaborations. The conference will host two prominent plenary speakers from the field of civil engineering.

ICPER2020: International Conference on Production, Energy and Reliability is organised by the Mechanical Engineering Department. This conference aims to gather researchers and industry practitioners to share new ideas, research results and development experiences towards sustainable Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). This era of digitisation will cause disruption to the production and manufacturing landscape. ICPER 2020 will discuss on the impacts of this disruption and how the industry can utilise new technology such as autonomous systems in manufacturing, advanced energy management and renewable energy as well as the implementation of big data analytics to monitor production lines.

ICPEAM2020: International Conference on Process Engineering & Advance Materials is organised by the Chemical Engineering Department. This conference will serve as the intersection of industrial expertise, engineers, scientists, academicians and scholars to disseminate the latest findings from their areas of expertise. This conference aims to spark a broader discussion on the opportunity and challenges of the current technological innovations including Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) in achieving a sustainable future.

ICIAS2020: International Conference on Intelligent & Advanced System is organised by the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department. The conference covers areas of autonomous systems, system simulation and integration, Internet of Things (IoT) and big data analytics. The conference will discuss introduction of self-aware machinery and intelligent systems at consumer and industrial levels, pushing the boundaries of smart technology in this digital era.

The International Conference on Computer and Information Sciences (ICCOINS 2018) is organised by the Department of Computer and Information Sciences. The conference promotes research and development activities in Computer Science, Information Technology and Information Systems towards Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) which requires intersection of disciplines

in computing as well as others such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, social sciences, business administration, manufacturing etc. Thus, ICCOINS 2018 will be an ideal platform
for researchers and industry players to share views, ideas and experiences in information processing, computing techniques and other related areas towards this digital era of IR 4.0. ICCOINS 2018 is technically sponsored by IEEE Computational Intelligence Society.

International Conference on Fundamental & Applied Sciences (ICFAS 2018) is organised by the Fundamental & Applied Sciences Department. The conference aims to bring together academicians, scientists and industrialists from all around the world for knowledge sharing, exchange of ideas, and to present research findings in all aspects of applied sciences. The conference will share insights

on futuristic technologies such as nanotechnology, sustainable chemistry and advanced computational methods and statistics.

International Conference on Leadership & Management (ICLM 2018) is organised by the Management and Humanities Department. In this conference, the scope will answer questions on the roles
of leaders and corporate management as we embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution. ICLM 2018 will discuss new ideas and schools of thought with regards to organisations, while deliberating on the challenges of the new era to institutions and entities, in attempts to redefine leadership and management in a futuristic society.

International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences (ICHSS 2018) is organised by the Management and Humanities Department. Education and the Humanities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution is a complex, dialectical and exciting opportunity which can potentially transform society for the better. This conference will explore the role of education and the humanities in its teaching, research (including innovation), skills enhancement and its service within an innovative technologically advanced and industrialised context.

This congress will also organise Innovation Pitching to provide a platform for researchers and investors to seek funds and partners for product commercialisation opportunities. Innovation Pitching aims to bridge UTP technology to the industry, create awareness of UTP’s capability in technology development and commercialise UTP technology.
