Situated at the centre of Kuala Lumpur’s Central Business District, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is the city’s most technologically–advanced, purpose-built facility for international, regional and local conventions, tradeshows, public exhibitions, entertainment and private functions. The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s total function space is 20,059m2. This is inclusive of support areas and circulation space, the facility’s gross built-up area is 120,000m2 on a 7.3 acre site.
The Centre was a key project within PETRONAS’ distinctive Kuala Lumpur City Centre development. Designed as a “city within a city”, this 100-acre development offers a stimulating environment where one can work, live, shop, visit and enjoy life. Other components include a 50-acre park, the signature PETRONASTwin Towers, the Asy’Syakirin Mosque, six-storey Suria KLCC shopping centre, PETROSAINS interactive science discovery centre, Galeri PETRONAS and the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) is a component of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) and is managed and operated by Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a joint-venture company between KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd and AEG Ogden Pty Ltd, Australia.
Winner of the TravelWeekly (Asia) Industry Awards’ “Best Exhibition and Convention Centre in Asia” for 2007 and 2008 and recipient of the Brand Laureate Awards 2007-2008 for brand excellence in Product Branding – Convention Centre, the Centre is a wholly-owned facility of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Sdn Bhd which in turn, is owned by KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS).
